Roborock introduces the Saros Z70, the world’s first mass-produced robotic vacuum cleaner featuring an integrated five-axis robotic arm designed to clear small obstacles autonomously. Available from May 9, 2025, at an introductory price of €1,699, the Saros Z70 delivers advanced navigation and exceptional cleaning power with smart home compatibility.

Introduction to the Roborock Saros Z70

On May 9, 2025, Roborock, the leading global robotic vacuum brand in 2024, unveiled its newest flagship model: the Saros Z70. This robot vacuum stands out as the first production unit equipped with an integrated robotic arm, engineered to not only clean floors but also to clear away small obstacles like socks, cables, and toys autonomously.

Robotic Arm Technology and Obstacle Handling

The Saros Z70’s core innovation is its OmniGrip robotic arm. This five-axis foldable arm can detect, lift, and relocate obstacles weighing up to 300 grams using advanced sensors, a camera, and LED lighting to ensure precise and safe operation. The device incorporates child safety features and an emergency stop function to prevent accidents.

Equipped with the StarSight™ Autonomous System 2.0, the Saros Z70 uses dual Light 3D Time-of-Flight sensors (ToF) and RGB cameras to identify up to 108 obstacle types, which it then navigates around with high precision. The VertiBeam™ Lateral Obstacle Avoidance System allows smooth movement along furniture edges and walls. An over-the-air (OTA) update supports user-defined obstacles, expanding the device’s adaptability.

Performance Metrics and Cleaning Features

The Saros Z70 impresses on several fronts. Its suction power peaks at 22,000 Pascals, complemented by a Dual Anti-Tangle System and FreeFlow™ main brush to handle dust, pet hair, and debris effectively. The vacuum’s ultrathin profile of 7.98 cm enables thorough cleaning under low-clearance furniture.

Two rotating mop pads automatically lift up to 2.2 cm to switch seamlessly between vacuuming and mopping, while ensuring carpets stay dry thanks to automatic mop lifting. Users can opt for vacuum-only mode by leaving the mop pads on the dock, which the device fetches only when needed.

Docking Station and Smart Features

The new Multifunction Dock 4.0 supports rapid recharge in 2.5 hours along with auto refilling and cleaning of the device. It also includes a mop cleaning system heated to 80°C which ensures hygiene, plus an automatic mop coupling mechanism.

Pet owners receive dedicated features such as “Pet Snaps,” which captures photos of pets during cleaning, and Pet Area Recognition, which disables suction when pets are detected. The Roborock app supports video calls and pet tracking for added convenience.

Smart Home Integration and Availability

The Saros Z70 is compatible with a broad range of smart home ecosystems, including offline voice control and integration with Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and the Matter 1.4 standard. This enables users to manage cleaning routines effortlessly within their connected home environments.

The Roborock Saros Z70 is available starting May 9, 2025, priced at €1,699 for the standard version and €1,799 for the variant with direct water connection. Sales channels include the official Roborock shop, Amazon, and MediaMarkt.
