Motorola Edge 2025 Set for Launch, with Design and Camera Highlights
The next generation Motorola Edge is nearly here. Recent leaks have offered a thorough preview of what fans and smartphone enthusiasts can expect from the Motorola Edge 2025. While some core elements remain familiar, a series of refinements—especially on the rear—signal a more premium device aimed at those with an eye for both aesthetics and performance.
On the front, Motorola keeps things understated. The Edge 2025 features a curved display with ultra-thin bezels, interrupted only by a centered punch-hole camera at the top. The layout of the physical controls should feel familiar for returning users. Power and volume buttons are located on the right edge of the phone, while the left side features what appears to be a customizable Quick Button. Early reports suggest this button could be mapped to launch specific apps or tools, mirroring the approach Motorola has taken with AI features on its recent foldables.
The biggest shift is found on the back panel. The Edge 2025 upgrades from a dual to a triple camera arrangement, all housed in a slightly raised, squarish module. Vegan leather, a hallmark of Motorola’s recent premium models, covers the rear in an elegant green shade, covering even the camera island for a fully integrated look. Branding sits centered beneath the new camera module, maintaining the company’s signature style.
Closer inspection of leaked images hints at some technical camera improvements, mentioning optical image stabilization, advanced Lytia sensors, and a lens system promising improved zoom capabilities. However, Motorola has not yet published official camera specs.
Hardware details remain partly under wraps, but based on industry leaks and previous generations, the Edge 2025 will likely feature a high-refresh-rate OLED display—continuing the focus on smooth scrolling and vivid visuals—and an under-display fingerprint sensor. Protection appears robust, with anticipated IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The 5,000mAh battery from last year’s Edge is expected to return, supporting fast wired charging (up to 68W) and wireless top-ups at 15W. Users will probably see Android 15 out of the box, keeping software current at launch.
With the Edge 2024 debuting in June last year, industry-watchers are pointing to a mid-year launch for its successor. As for price and additional colors, Motorola is keeping those details closely guarded for now.
