Nothing Phone 3 breaks cover on July 1
Nothing has finally lifted the curtain on the launch date for its next big smartphone. The Nothing Phone 3 will debut globally on July 1, with availability confirmed in markets such as India and the US. The official launch announcement comes amid a flood of leaks and speculation about what the UK-based company will offer this time around.
Flagship ambitions, flagship pricing
For the first time, Nothing is targeting the top end of the smartphone market. The Phone 3 is expected to start at $799 for the configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There will also be a higher-end option featuring 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with a price tag of $899. These figures are consistent with earlier hints from Nothing CEO Carl Pei and place the Phone 3 squarely within the flagship pricing tier, although the precise hardware inside has yet to be fully confirmed.
The starting price is expected to be nearly double that of last year’s Phone 2, prompting inevitable comparisons to competitors such as OnePlus in both features and value.
Color choices and a design departure
The Phone 3 will be available in classic black and white finishes. However, the most noteworthy design change may be what is missing. Unlike its predecessors, the new model drops the brand’s signature Glyph Interface, an array of LED lights that offered unique visual notifications and defined Nothing’s visual identity. Instead, teasers suggest a more understated, dual-tone back panel, possibly with a textured surface. This move signals an ambition by Nothing to explore new aesthetics as it tries to appeal to users looking for something different in a crowded flagship market.
Speculation continues on the chipset
While the design and pricing are now public, uncertainty surrounds the exact processor inside the Phone 3. Some leaks mention a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while others expect alternative flagship chips such as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite. Ultimately, the final hardware specs could play a major role in how the Phone 3 is received, especially as buyers compare its value to rivals in the same price segment.
With July 1 fast approaching, Nothing’s bold step toward the flagship arena is set to be closely watched. The absence of the Glyph Interface and the increased pricing mark a clear shift for the brand as it aims to make a statement among premium smartphones.
