Huawei Nova 14 Series Debuts
Huawei has officially announced its Nova 14 series in China, consisting of three models: the Nova 14 Ultra, Nova 14 Pro, and Nova 14. The Nova 14 Ultra is the flagship, boasting a high-end camera system and display technology.
Nova 14 Ultra: Key Features
The Nova 14 Ultra features a 6.81-inch quad-curved LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Huawei claims improvements in power consumption thanks to the LTPO 3.0 panel. The display is protected by Kunlun glass and reaches a peak brightness of 5,500 nits. For selfies, it has a dual front camera setup with a 50MP ultrawide lens and an 8MP lens with 2x optical zoom.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture (f/1.4 – f/4.0) and OIS, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope lens with 3.7x optical zoom. All three rear sensors are RYYB.
Other notable features of the Nova 14 Ultra include HarmonyOS 5, a 5,500 mAh silicon carbon battery with 100W fast charging, IP68/69 water and dust resistance, and two-way satellite connectivity (in China).
Nova 14 and Nova 14 Pro
The Nova 14 Pro sports a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display (FHD+ 120Hz), while the standard Nova 14 has a 6.7-inch OLED display (FHD+ 120Hz). The Pro model shares the Ultra’s 50MP + 8MP dual front cameras. The Nova 14 uses a single 50MP front-facing camera.
The Nova 14 Pro also features the Ultra’s 50MP main sensor with variable aperture and OIS, but it includes a 12MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The Nova 14 has a simpler triple camera setup with a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens.
Both the Nova 14 and Nova 14 Pro are equipped with HarmonyOS 5.0, 5,500mAh batteries, and 100W charging. They also feature IP65 water and dust resistance.
Pricing and Availability
The Nova 14 series is currently available for pre-order in China. Global availability details are expected in the coming weeks. Pricing for the Nova 14 Ultra starts at CNY 4,199 (approximately $582) for the 256GB version. The Nova 14 starts at CNY 2,699 ($374), and the Nova 14 Pro begins at CNY 3,499 ($485).
